General Description of the Psoglav

Psoglav is a demonic creature from Balkan folklore, particularly in Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin traditions. Its name literally means "dog head" in Serbian, and it is often described as having a humanoid body with horse legs, a dog head with iron teeth, and a single eye in the middle of its forehead, giving it a monstrous and terrifying appearance. The Psoglav is also associated with cannibalistic practices, feeding on human flesh, and is known for digging up corpses in cemeteries to sustain itself​.

It is often described as living in caves or dark areas, often rich in precious stones but without sunlight. In some versions of the myth, the Psoglav is a feared predator that hunts humans and symbolizes death and hidden danger in the wild.
