Discover our Egyptian tarot decks, modern creations inspired by the deities, temples, signs, and motifs of ancient Egypt. Isis, Osiris, Horus, Anubis, or Thoth may appear on the cards, depending on the deck. These tarot decks do not come directly from the Pharaonic era: they extend the connections established between tarot, Hermeticism, and Egypt in modern occultism.
Before buying, compare the number of cards, the system followed, the language of the guidebook, and the format. Some decks follow a structure similar to the Rider-Waite-Smith or the Tarot de Marseille, while others develop their own organization.
Choose an Egyptian tarot deck by distinguishing ancient inspiration from modern creation.
Egyptian tarot decks use deities, temples, signs, and motifs inspired by ancient Egypt. However, they belong to the modern history of tarot: they are not card decks passed down from the Pharaonic era.
To choose one, check the system it follows, the language, the number of cards, and how the guidebook explains Isis, Osiris, Horus, Anubis, Thoth, or the other figures featured.
An Egyptian inspiration, not a pharaonic tarot deck
The links between tarot and Egypt were developed by authors and occultists long after the cards first appeared. Modern decks draw on this later heritage and enrich it with pharaonic iconography.
So choose the set for its system and the quality of its symbolic work, not as an archaeological object.
An Egyptian tarot deck may be based on Marseille, Rider-Waite-Smith, or a system developed for the edition. Check the organization of the Major and Minor Arcana, the names, and the number of cards.
This information determines the type of book and compatible exercises.
Egyptian iconography requires a readable print size to distinguish figures, attributes, and symbols. Compare the booklet’s dimensions and language, especially for imported editions.
A beautiful theme remains more useful when accompanied by clear explanations.
Frequently Asked Questions About Egyptian Tarot Decks
System, iconography, format, and learning: the answers before choosing.
Do Egyptian tarot cards come from ancient Egypt?
No. These are modern creations inspired by ancient Egypt and connections drawn by modern occultism.
Why does Thoth appear in some games?
Thoth is an Egyptian deity associated in particular with writing and knowledge. Modern authors incorporate him into their systems of correspondences.
Do all these decks follow the same system?
No. Some follow Marseille or Rider-Waite-Smith, while others create a specific structure.
Do you need to know the Egyptian pantheon?
Not to start with, but the context helps explain the author's iconographic choices.
Is an Egyptian tarot deck suitable for a beginner?
Yes, if the structure and booklet are clear. A highly symbolic deck without explanations will require more research.
How do I choose between several editions?
Compare system, number of cards, language, format, print quality, and level of detail in the booklet.
Can you use a Rider-Waite book with an Egyptian tarot deck?
Only if the deck actually follows this structure. Check compatibility before applying the method.
What is the difference from an Egyptian oracle?
Tarot maintains a structure of arcana; an oracle has a number and arrangement of cards defined by its creator.
How are Egyptian tarot orders prepared?
Our team prepares and ships orders from France. Check the availability and contents of the selected edition. Shipments are sent in discreet packages.
Where can I check the shipping costs for an Egyptian tarot deck?
The Shipping Methods page presents the general terms. The options and fees corresponding to your address and cart appear at checkout.
