Myths
Kartikeya is famous for destroying the demon Taraka, who terrorized the gods. At the age of six days, he defeated Taraka and his demonic armies, making him the commander of the divine armies and giving him the title of "Senapati." He is also associated with the legend of his journey around the earth on his peacock, in a race with his brother Ganesha, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
