1. Planetary hours, an ancestral reference

The planet that opens the day gives its name to the date; if the first hour after dawn falls under Jupiter's authority, it is Thursday. In the next cycle, Jupiter yields to Mars, and so on until the next light.

The calculation remains mathematical, but its use is practical. Take the daytime length: fifteen hours at the summer solstice in Paris. Divide by twelve; each slot then measures about seventy-five minutes. In mid-December, the same day counts eight hours forty minutes, so the slot shrinks to forty-three minutes. The table derived from this data aligns twenty-four slots, each with a planetary symbol and its corresponding tone. The practitioner only needs to target the intention of the moment and aim for the right window.
