Dodie Graham McKay is an author, filmmaker, and green witch living on Treaty One territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Initiated into witchcraft, she is also a Gardnerian priestess. Passionate about nature and the visible and invisible realms of magic and witchcraft, Dodie Graham McKay documents and shares stories that capture the beauty of these worlds.
She is the author of several works, including Earth Magic: The Elements of Witchcraft published by Llewellyn in 2021. This book deeply explores Earth element magic, including rituals, spells, and practices to strengthen the connection with this element. Her upcoming book, A Witch’s Ally: Building a Magical Relationship with Animal Familiars & Companions, will be released in September 2024 in the United States and in October 2024 in Canada and Europe. This book focuses on building deep magical relationships with animal familiars.
In addition to her writings, Dodie is an independent filmmaker. Her documentary films include The WinniPagans (2012), Starry Nights (2016), and the four-part series Exploring the Sacred (2022). She is active in the local artistic and magical community and founder of Moongazey Films Inc. She regularly shares her experiences and knowledge through various media, including articles for The Wild Hunt.
In her leisure time, Dodie enjoys walking her dogs and leading an active coven, deeply engaging in community and spiritual life.
