Qabalistic Teachings of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn
At the end of the 19th century, the Order of the Golden Dawn was founded, an initiatory society established by several British occultists and Freemasons, including Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, a major figure in Western esotericism and author of this work. Originating one of the most influential magical systems of its time, the Golden Dawn transmitted for decades a teaching developed around many fields related to occultism and divinatory arts, such as astrology, cartomancy, geomancy, and clairvoyance. Translated into French for the first time, this book reveals part of the teachings of this legendary order and allows readers to discover its vision of divinatory practices as well as the methods used by its initiates.

Buy The Divinatory Practices of the Golden Dawn in our esoteric shop
At the end of the 19th century, the Golden Dawn appeared, an initiatory society founded by several British occultists and Freemasons. Among them is Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, author of this work and a major figure in Western esotericism. This order has left a lasting mark on the history of occult practices by developing a structured system that still influences many approaches related to magic and divination today.
The divinatory teachings of a major initiatory order
This work reveals part of the teachings transmitted within the Golden Dawn concerning the divinatory arts. It covers various fields such as astrology, cartomancy, geomancy, and clairvoyance, presenting how these practices were understood and used by the order’s initiates. The text offers a discovery of an organized and methodical vision of divination, where each practice finds its place within a coherent whole.
A French translation of a long inaccessible text
Translated into French for the first time, this book opens access to teachings that were long reserved for a restricted circle. It allows understanding the logic and methods used in the Golden Dawn’s divinatory work, while providing an overview of the considerable influence exerted by this order on modern occultism. The whole constitutes a valuable resource for those wishing to deepen their understanding of divinatory practices and their history.
Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (1854-1918) is one of the major figures of British occultism at the end of the 19th century. A scholar passionate about Hermeticism, Kabbalah, grimoires, and ancient magical traditions, he participated in the founding of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in 1888, an initiatory society that would have a major influence on modern Western esotericism. Translator of important texts such as the Kabbala Denudata, the Key of Solomon, and The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, Mathers played a central role in transmitting many occult teachings in the English language. His work, blending ceremonial magic, symbolism, and initiatory traditions, has left a lasting mark on several generations of occultists and authors of the 20th century.
Here, we don’t judge.
No matter where you come from, what you believe in, or what you’re looking for: you belong here. You can be a beginner, curious, a casual practitioner, or a daily witch. What matters is sincere intention.
We believe in all forms of magic.
High magic and its rigorous rituals deserve as much respect as spells passed down in the countryside. We read grimoires, respect rites, listen to old stories. Everything practiced with faith deserves serious and curious attention.
We welcome all traditions.
We don’t put one path above another. We talk hoodoo, kabbalah, Christian prayers, elemental magic, folk rituals, Celtic symbols. What matters is respect. Not the label.
We work cleanly.
Each package is carefully prepared by us, here in France. Before shipping, it is purified so it arrives at your home cleansed and positively charged. We strive to use recyclable packaging and reduce our impact as much as possible.
We stay available.
Customer service is us. Not an AI, not a robot, not a call center. If you have a question, a doubt, a problem, you reach us—the same people who select the products, write the descriptions, and prepare the packages.
We stay human-sized.
We are a small passionate team with big ambitions, hands in the herbs, books, and boxes. And we want to keep it that way.
— You speak about it best.
