History of Magic, written by Éliphas Lévi, is a fundamental work that has marked the history of esoteric literature. First published in 1860, this book has never stopped being reissued, proof of its importance and its ability to captivate readers, even centuries after its release. It is considered one of the pillars of modern magical thought, offering both a historical exploration and a deep reflection on the practice of magic.

The work is structured into 7 books, each composed of 7 chapters, reflecting the symbolic importance of the number 7 in esoteric tradition. In this text, Éliphas Lévi traces the evolution of magical practices and their principles, from Antiquity to his time. He does not merely present historical facts but also offers a unique interpretation of the links between magic, philosophy, religion, and science. His clear and scholarly style makes knowledge often perceived as complex accessible.

This book is also a true treasure trove of information, enriched by documentation of rare density. It includes 580 pages of analyses, stories, and reflections, accompanied by 20 illustrated plates that provide valuable visual insight into the concepts discussed. These illustrations, like the text, allow the reader to immerse themselves in the world of magic through the ages.

Compact and accessible in pocket format, the History of Magic is much more than a book: it is an essential guide for those who wish to understand the origins, symbols, and magical practices, while discovering a thought that has influenced generations of occultists and researchers.

Éliphas Lévi, whose real name was Alphonse Louis Constant, was born on February 8, 1810, in Paris and died on May 31, 1875. A writer, occultist, and scholar, he is considered one of the pillars of modern occultism. Initially destined for the priesthood, he left his seminary due to disagreements with the Catholic Church, but his interest in spirituality and mysteries never left him.

Adopting the pseudonym Éliphas Lévi, he devoted himself to the study of esoteric traditions, Kabbalah, and magic, becoming a key figure in these fields. His works, such as Dogma and Ritual of High Magic and History of Magic, have had a significant influence on esoteric thought in Europe and beyond. He is recognized for helping to connect ancient mystical traditions with modern concepts, laying the foundations of contemporary occultism.

With a scholarly and poetic style, Éliphas Lévi explored various themes such as Hermeticism, alchemy, Kabbalah, and ceremonial magic, while integrating deep philosophical and spiritual reflection. His work inspired major figures like Aleister Crowley and continues to be an essential reference in the field of esotericism.

Here, we don’t judge.

No matter where you come from, what you believe in, or what you’re looking for: you belong here. You can be a beginner, curious, a casual practitioner, or a daily witch. What matters is sincere intention.

We believe in all forms of magic.

High magic and its rigorous rituals deserve as much respect as spells passed down in the countryside. We read grimoires, respect rites, listen to old stories. Everything practiced with faith deserves serious and curious attention.

We welcome all traditions.

We don’t put one path above another. We talk hoodoo, kabbalah, Christian prayers, elemental magic, folk rituals, Celtic symbols. What matters is respect. Not the label.

We work cleanly.

Each package is carefully prepared by us, here in France. Before shipping, it is purified so it arrives at your home cleansed and positively charged. We strive to use recyclable packaging and reduce our impact as much as possible.

We stay available.

Customer service is us. Not an AI, not a robot, not a call center. If you have a question, a doubt, a problem, you reach us—the same people who select the products, write the descriptions, and prepare the packages.

We stay human-sized.

We are a small passionate team with big ambitions, hands in the herbs, books, and boxes. And we want to keep it that way.

You speak about it best.
