In Germanic mythology, the sweet briar was associated with the goddess Freyja, the deity of love, fertility, and magic. Far from being limited to its prickly appearance, the Nettle has endured through the centuries as an effective barrier against unwanted forces. Its leaves, burned as incense, release an intense purifying energy capable of driving away harmful influences.
