Stones by Quality
To help you better understand the differences in appearance between certain pieces, we have established a quality ranking. Ultimately, each stone remains a creation of Nature and has its own character. Variations in color, transparency, shape, or texture are part of their beauty. Thus, quality mainly corresponds to its appearance, level of finish, and the work done during its preparation.
The Initium Quality (A) includes stones with more natural irregularities. Their shape, shine, or color may appear less uniform, while still retaining the authentic charm of raw minerals. The Media Quality (AA) gathers stones carefully selected for their beautiful visual aspect. They offer a nice shine, pleasant colors, and a quality finish that meets the expectations of most mineral enthusiasts. The Excelsus Quality (AAA) corresponds to the finest pieces in our selection. These stones benefit from particularly meticulous work, excellent visual quality, remarkable shine, and very few visible imperfections.
This ranking allows you to more easily choose the stone that matches your expectations, budget, and intended use.

Citrine Tourmaline Luck Obsidian Clear Quartz CrystalHow to choose the finish level of your mineral?
When exploring the world of stones and minerals, it is common to notice that two stones with the same name can show significant differences in color, transparency, shine, or overall appearance. These variations are explained by the very nature of the mineral, as well as the quality of the raw material selected and the work done during its cutting or polishing.
At Aeternum, we have chosen to classify our stones according to different quality levels to help you more easily identify the characteristics of each piece. This classification is primarily based on visual and aesthetic criteria. It never calls into question the authenticity of the stone or its natural origin. Each mineral has its own story, unique features, and marks inherited from its formation deep within the Earth.
Why are there different levels of quality?
Not all stones extracted from a deposit have the same appearance. Some parts of a mineral display deeper colors, better transparency, or a more regular structure. Others retain more veins, natural cracks, inclusions, or color variations. Added to this is the work done after extraction. A tumbled stone, a polished pebble, or a sphere require different stages of processing. The more demanding the selection of raw material and the more refined the finishing work, the higher the visual quality of the final result.
This classification thus allows for the comparison of similar stones while understanding the reasons behind certain differences in price or appearance.
Initium Quality (A)
The Initium category includes stones with a more natural and raw appearance. They may have irregular shapes, less uniform color shades, lower transparency, or a more subtle shine. These characteristics are not flaws but simply reflect the nature of the mineral and the level of selection applied. This category offers access to many stones at an affordable price while fully enjoying their natural beauty. The Initium stones retain an authentic character that highlights the unique features of each mineral.
Media Quality (AA)
The Media category corresponds to a higher level of selection. The stones show better visual consistency, a more pleasing color to the eye, and a more refined finish. The shine is generally more pronounced, and natural imperfections are less noticeable. This quality represents an excellent balance between aesthetics, finish quality, and budget.
Many tumbled stones, bracelets, pebbles, and mineral objects belong to this category, which is particularly appreciated for its harmonious appearance.
Excelsus Quality (AAA)
The Excelsus category brings together the finest pieces from our selection. These stones come from the most sought-after parts of the mineral and feature particularly meticulous finishing work. The colors appear more vivid, the transparency is greater when the nature of the mineral allows it, and visible imperfections are very limited. The surface has a remarkable shine and excellent uniformity.
These stones fully showcase the visual richness of the mineral and represent the highest quality level offered in our shop.
Choose the quality that suits you
The choice of quality primarily depends on your personal preferences. Some people appreciate the raw and natural character of an Initium stone, while others seek the shine and finish of an Excelsus stone. Between the two, the Media quality offers an excellent compromise to enjoy a mineral with a very beautiful visual appearance. Whatever category you choose, each stone offered in our shop is carefully selected. We ensure to present you with authentic minerals and provide you with as much information as possible so you can make your choice with complete confidence.
