Placed under Venus — although some astrological charts associate it with Jupiter — thyme, born on the hills of the Midi region, belongs to the Aromatic Fire element; its very name, derived from the Greek thýein meaning "to offer in fumigation," recalls its role as a sacred incense.
In Hellenic temples, its branches were burned to purify the air, and much later, medieval ladies embroidered this herb on knights' sashes to instill courage before battle. From the stele of Aphrodite to the tournament field, the essential oil thus embodies a dual symbol: fiery bravery and ritual purification, a Venusian seal that protects while uplifting the wearer.

Steam-distilled from the leafy branches of Thymus vulgaris, Thyme Essential Oil concentrates a powerful blend of thymol and carvacrol. A light diffusion in the workspace promotes alertness, while a diluted application on the skin tones muscles after exertion. Its aromatic signature aligns with the Fire of Noon and ensures mental clarity during extended study or ritual preparations.
Courage forged by embers and Venusian purification
Under the influence of Venus — sometimes Jupiter — and nourished by the element Fire, thyme carries a dual heritage. In Hellenic temples, its branches were burned to purify the air and honor the deity; the smoke rose straight up, carrying away negative energies. In the Middle Ages, knights received scarves embroidered with this herb to bolster their courage before battle.
