In fact, Nefertum, associated with rebirth, wore a lotus flower. It was said that the sun was reborn each morning from a Lotus emerging from the primordial waters.
In Hinduism and Buddhism, the Lotus is a sacred symbol, the seat of deities, a support for meditation, a mark of spiritual elevation. The lotus flower, through its image of pure emergence from muddy water, is used as a spiritual metaphor: to purify the mind, seek the light, rise above material attachments.
