Between February 11 and July 16, 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes. During the 9th apparition, Bernadette discovered a water spring at the foot of the Massabielle grotto, following the Virgin’s instructions who said to her: « Go drink from the spring and wash there ».
