Use of Herbs

To benefit from the effects of an herb, flower, root, bark, or seed in magic, it is essential to follow a few steps and use it properly according to your intention. Note that the herbs we present are intended solely for magical use and must never be ingested (some are toxic!).

First and foremost, purification is mandatory. Take the plant, whether it is an herb, root, or flower, and carefully pass it through the smoke of white sage, palo santo, or any other purifying herb. This process removes any negative or neutral influences it may have accumulated. Make sure the smoke envelops it from all sides.

Mojo bag

Mojo bags (or gris-gris pouches) are small fabric bags mainly used in hoodoo, but they have found their place in other forms of magic as well. Each mojo is prepared with a specific intention: protection, prosperity, love, luck, etc...

To create a mojo bag, choose the plants and herbs that correspond to your magical goal. Once the herbs are selected, place them in a small fabric pouch, often accompanied by crystals, roots, or other symbolic objects. The mojo is then "activated" by carrying it on your person or keeping it in a dedicated space, while regularly repeating affirmations or prayers to keep its energy active.

Spell jar

Spell jars are enchanted bottles where you place various ingredients to manifest a particular intention. Dried plants, herbs, and roots are included based on their specific properties and act as amplifiers of your spell.

The spell jars are then sealed and placed in a meaningful location — whether in your home, office, or even buried near your residence to extend their effect. They can also be shaken or touched regularly to reactivate their energy.

Fumigation

Some plants (not all, as indicated on the product page) can be used in the form of fumigation. For this, simply place a small amount on a lit charcoal briquette and put it in a cauldron or dish. The effects will then diffuse around you and remain in place for several hours.

Offering

Offerings made from dried plants are a way to pay tribute to spiritual forces, deities, or the Earth itself.

When offering dried plants, choose those that correspond to the energy or deity to whom you are making the offering. You can also create herb blends and place them in bowls, burn them on charcoal, or bury them near a sacred tree.
