Raphaël Steck is a French author, liturgist, and poet, born in 1979 and originally from Alsace. He committed early to a religious path within the Gallican Church, an independent Christian movement that claims autonomy from the Vatican. Ordained as a priest in 2004, he was later consecrated as a bishop in this tradition. For several years, he divided his time between his parish ministry, his family, and a secular professional activity, while also taking an interest in religious history, ancient liturgy, and writing studies, books, and articles. His publications include liturgical texts and essays on spiritual or historical themes. He has also developed the crafting of liturgical incense according to ancient recipes and has advocated for certain social causes, notably animal welfare.
