Pierre d’Aban, originally named Pietro d’Abano, was born around 1250 in Italy and died around 1315. A physician, philosopher, and astrologer, he taught in Padua and Paris, where he gained a solid reputation in the sciences of his time, especially in medicine and astronomy. His main work is more related to natural philosophy and astrology than to operative magic. He sought to connect the human body, temperaments, and celestial influences in a coherent worldview, inspired by authors like Avicenna.
