Dominique Camus is a French ethnologist, sociologist, and historian, recognized for his in-depth research on popular beliefs and magical practices in France. He holds a doctorate in sciences from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS), has taught at the University of Rennes I, and was a researcher at the sociology laboratory of the University of Rennes II.

For over forty years, Dominique Camus has dedicated himself to the study of tales, legends, and magical-religious practices in contemporary France. He is the author of around forty works dealing with folklore, healers, seers, and witchcraft.
