Christopher Penczak is an American witch, teacher, author, and energy healing practitioner. Born on May 10, 1973, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he grew up in an Italian-Polish family in Salem, New Hampshire. After twelve years of Catholic education, he initially identified as agnostic, seeking to reconcile his spirituality with his queer identity. He pursued studies in chemistry, inspired by a fascination with alchemy and herbalism, then earned a degree in vocal performance and music management from the University of Massachusetts in 1995.
His spiritual journey was influenced by significant personal experiences, including an out-of-body experience during childhood and an apparition of his deceased great-aunt. These events led him to explore mysticism and the occult. Introduced to the principles of witchcraft by Laurie Cabot, a prominent figure in Salem, he deepened his knowledge of meditation, tarot, and magical rituals. He also studied with various practitioners, developing an eclectic approach to modern witchcraft.
