Aeternum
Rose of Jericho
The Rose of Jericho, also known as the resurrection plant or eternal plant, comes from the desert environments of Mexico and the Middle East. It is known for its exceptional ability to endlessly come back to life, even when it appears completely dead, without roots. Simply rehydrate it to see it awaken, regain color, and open like a real rose.
Because of this ability, it has become a famous magical plant, symbolizing fertility (ideal for Ostara), but also abundance, success, and love when it revives in a home. It can also serve as a protective talisman to ward off negative energies and harmful spells from your home.
You will receive a ball that looks dried out, but be sure it is just waiting for you to bring it back to life. Note, however, that it is not actually a rose; the name is inspired by its shape.
This plant is sold individually; its appearance and size may vary.

Home Protection and Ritual Purification
Rose of Jericho is used in energy cleansing and home protection work. It is placed in homes to absorb harmful influences and restore a peaceful atmosphere. The water used to awaken the plant — when it unfolds after being dry — is then used to sprinkle the doorstep, corners of rooms, or ritual objects, with the aim of dissipating tensions and attracting gentle and harmonious energy. This water thus becomes a purification tool that acts on both the space and the people.
Rituals of Abundance and Renewal
The Rose of Jericho’s ability to rehydrate and come back to life makes it a powerful symbol of rebirth and prosperity. It is incorporated into rituals intended to attract wealth, especially when coins are placed at its base during its unfolding. Some combine it with green candles anointed with its water to promote material success and amplify intentions related to economic growth. It also accompanies promising beginnings: professional projects, moving into a new home, periods of transition, or conception of a child.
Ancient Symbol of Eternal Life
Considered a miraculous plant, the Rose of Jericho embodies vegetal immortality. It endures through the years in a dry state and comes back to life as soon as it is immersed. This quality connects it to themes of resurrection and continuation beyond trials. A Christian legend says it bloomed at the time of Christ’s birth, then again at his resurrection. This ancient link to sacred cycles gives it an aura of a sacred plant, always ready to accompany major transitions and support quests for deep renewal.

Awaken the Rose of Jericho
The Rose of Jericho, also called the resurrection plant, appears as a dry ball, closed in on itself. To awaken it, simply place it in a shallow container filled with room temperature water. The water should only cover the base of the plant. Within a few hours, the leaves unfold, the heart opens, and the plant regains its shape. This movement symbolizes opening, the return of energy, life after stasis. It is important to set a clear intention at the moment of immersion, in silence or softly spoken. The plant responds to calm, presence, and focused attention.
Care without damage
The Rose of Jericho does not need soil, direct light, or daily watering. It lives according to its bathing rhythm. It can stay in the water for one to two days, then be removed and left to dry completely. This cycle can be repeated weekly or according to energetic needs. Too much water eventually weakens its fibers. Prolonged excess moisture makes its roots soft and encourages mold. Once dry, it returns to its original shape without damage. It is recommended to use non-chlorinated water and to change the water daily when it is open. The plant does not tolerate dirty stagnant water or rough handling. It prefers calm and simplicity.
Respect its rhythm
The Rose of Jericho acts as a living symbol. It is not meant to stay open permanently. It works best when following a rhythm of rest and awakening. This back-and-forth allows it to maintain its strength. After use, it is best to let it dry completely, then store it in a clean cloth, away from dust and moisture. Some use it as a talisman, others as a tool for purification or abundance. Whatever the intention set, regularity and respect for its cycles strengthen its effect. It asks for little, but responds well to consistency and kindness.
