😃 Optimism

The St. John's Wort, scientifically named Hypericum Perforatum, is a plant associated with the sun due to its yellow flowers and its blooming on St. John's Day, June 23rd (which has also become another of its names).

It is a plant that brings vitality, joy, and drives away evil spirits as well as dark thoughts (it is used as an antidepressant). Tradition holds that bouquets are hung in the home to ward off and protect against demons.

You can use it in smudging by placing a small amount on burning charcoal, in magical oils, or as an ingredient in a cleansing water.

These dried herbs are sold in 30g packages.

Other names: St. John's Herb, Devil's Bane, Herb of a Thousand Holes.

Note: for ritual use only, not for food or cosmetic use.

      Saint John's Day Solar Plant

St. John's Wort, Hypericum Perforatum, embodies the energy of the summer solstice. Its blooming around June 23rd, Saint John's Day, has made it a plant symbolically linked to fire, light, and solar strength. Its intensely yellow flowers are seen as visible manifestations of summer vitality. Traditionally harvested at sunrise, when it holds the most energy, St. John's Wort marks the beginning of a cycle favorable to growth, mental clarity, and the reaffirmation of individual will.

Plant of Healing and Inner Balance

St. John's Wort has been used for centuries to support morale, restore emotional balance, and dispel prolonged states of sadness. Its reputation is based on its ability to clear the mind and strengthen natural optimism. It is part of practices aimed at regaining inner stability in the face of mental disturbances. Its connection with the fire element makes it an effective energetic remedy to revive vital energy and dissolve mental clouds. Its use in wellness preparations reflects a desire to restore harmony between body, mind, and natural rhythms.

      Spiritual Protection and Ritual Purifications

In folk magic, St. John's Wort plays a protective role against harmful influences. Hung in homes, it forms a barrier against curses, hostile entities, and heavy psychic states. It purifies both the air and the surrounding energy, restoring a healthy atmosphere conducive to spiritual practices. Used in fumigation or incorporated into cleansing waters, it strengthens blessing and purification rituals. In magical oils, it enhances healing work and protective spells, acting as a condenser of luminous energy. Its ancient roots in solstice traditions give it a special status in seasonal practices.
