This Cat's Eye Shell is actually the operculum of the marine snail Turbo. It has been adopted as a protective talisman in traditions across Europe and the Middle East because it is a element linked to the power of waters on one hand, and for its spiral movement shape and open eye appearance on the other, which earned it its popular nickname and its role as a shield against the evil eye. This artifact has since become quite rare.
Today, it is mainly found in Voodoo magic, used as an ingredient in protective mojos. You can use it this way, or carry it as is to protect yourself from the evil eye (similar to a Nazar eye).
