This candle is specially linked to the Mabon sabbat. A pagan festival associated with the harvest and the arrival of autumn. Celebrated from September 20 to 23, it marks the gradual onset of the year's growing darkness.

It is purple in a solid shade to represent introspection, symbolizing the arrival of coolness, the sun’s rest, and time spent indoors. It is adorned with symbols related to this sabbat (grapes, apples, pears, nuts, ...).

The Mabon sabbat candle will decorate your altar as is, or can be anointed on top (avoiding the wick) with a magical oil or planetary oil (Mercury), or even with a corresponding essential oil (hazel, beech, honeysuckle, for example).

This candle is designed to celebrate the sabbat of Mabon, an essential pagan festival that honors the harvest and the imminent arrival of autumn. Traditionally celebrated between September 20 and 23, Mabon is a key moment in the pagan year, symbolizing the balance between light and darkness as well as the beginning of a time for reflection and preparation for the coming winter months. This period marks a turning point, where the days start to shorten, gradually leading to the darkness of the year's end.

The purple color of this candle, dyed in bulk for a deep and lasting hue, was chosen to represent introspection and wisdom. Purple also symbolizes the growing coolness of the air, the well-deserved rest of the sun, and the long hours spent indoors reflecting and recharging. The candle is adorned with symbols evoking Mabon, such as grapes, apples, pears, and nuts, all representative of the fruits of the harvest and the gifts of the earth celebrated during this sabbat.

On your altar, this Mabon candle can be used as is to enrich the sacred space with its colors and powerful symbols. To further personalize the candle and enhance its magical properties, you can anoint it with magical or planetary oils. Mercury oil, for example, could be used to facilitate communication and reflection during this time of transition. Alternatively, essential oils corresponding to Mabon’s themes, such as hazel for wisdom, beech for tolerance, and honeysuckle for protection, can be applied to the top of the candle. When anointing the candle, be careful to avoid the wick so as not to affect the quality of the burn.

Using this candle during Mabon celebrations adds a deep and enriching dimension to your rituals, creating an atmosphere that fosters gratitude for past harvests and preparation for upcoming challenges. It allows for a deeper connection to the Earth’s natural cycles and reflection on the personal and spiritual changes of the season.
