Maman Brigitte is a Loa figure known for her role as guardian of cemeteries and protector of the dead. Wife of Baron Samedi, the leader of the Gede (the spirits of the dead), Maman Brigitte holds a unique place in the pantheon of loas. She is often invoked for her wisdom, strength, and kind nature. Depicted as a woman with light skin, sometimes red-haired, which is unusual among Haitian loas, she often wears brightly colored clothing, mainly purple and black, and is associated with cross symbols. Maman Brigitte is especially called upon during funeral rites and memorial ceremonies, where she is prayed to for protection, guidance, and peace for the souls of the dead.
As guardian of cemeteries, Maman Brigitte watches over the graves and ensures that the spirits of the deceased are respected and protected. She is also known for her healing powers, often called upon to help cure illnesses and provide solutions to health problems, particularly those related to chronic diseases and mysterious ailments. Followers of Maman Brigitte firmly believe in her ability to offer clear and direct advice, as well as to bring justice and truth, especially in situations where injustice and lies prevail.
Maman Brigitte is also a loa of justice and moral uprightness, and she does not hesitate to punish those who disrespect the dead or commit acts of cruelty. Her presence is invoked to restore balance and order, and she is often seen as a strict but loving mother who ensures that her spiritual children are protected and well guided.
Here, we don’t judge.
No matter where you come from, what you believe in, or what you’re looking for: you belong here. You can be a beginner, curious, a casual practitioner, or a daily witch. What matters is sincere intention.
We believe in all forms of magic.
High magic and its rigorous rituals deserve as much respect as spells passed down in the countryside. We read grimoires, respect rites, listen to old stories. Everything practiced with faith deserves serious and curious attention.
We welcome all traditions.
We don’t put one path above another. We talk hoodoo, kabbalah, Christian prayers, elemental magic, folk rituals, Celtic symbols. What matters is respect. Not the label.
We work cleanly.
Each package is carefully prepared by us, here in France. Before shipping, it is purified so it arrives at your home cleansed and positively charged. We strive to use recyclable packaging and reduce our impact as much as possible.
We stay available.
Customer service is us. Not an AI, not a robot, not a call center. If you have a question, a doubt, a problem, you reach us—the same people who select the products, write the descriptions, and prepare the packages.
We stay human-sized.
We are a small passionate team with big ambitions, hands in the herbs, books, and boxes. And we want to keep it that way.
Amulet or talisman?
A talisman and an amulet are both objects used to channel protective energies, but their function and use differ. A talisman is created and consecrated with the specific purpose of attracting particular energies or qualities to its wearer, such as luck, success, or strength. It is active and acts as an amplifier of the wearer’s intention. In contrast, an amulet has a more defensive function: it protects by warding off negative influences and dangers, like a passive shield. In other words: where the talisman attracts, the amulet repels.
