Pyrite is undoubtedly a fire stone. During the gold rushes, many men believed they had found a gold vein when it was actually a pyrite deposit... which earned it the nickname fool's gold (fool's gold). It is thus associated with attracting financial flows in all forms.
Before that, in medieval occultism, Pyrite was the vessel of fire because it can create a flame when struck. It is therefore linked to the logic of secret fire, that internal fire that alchemists seek to ignite without burning the material.
