Used both for making flour and for decorating altars during harvest sabbats (Lammas, Lughnasadh, or Mabon), durum wheat is associated with celebrating the first and last harvests and offerings to ensure future prosperity.
It is also said that you should gather 7 ears of wheat on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year, at 7 a.m., to call wealth and luck for the rest of the year.
