As you may know, behind Aeternum is a small business based in Brittany (specifically in the south of Finistère). It is well known that this region lives to the rhythm of legends, myths, and magical practices, some more or less known (Brocéliande, Merlin, the Fairy Viviane, the Alignments, and many others). Thus, to highlight our beautiful region, we will regularly publish lesser-known legends from Breton history. This week, we head to the center of Brittany.
In the lands of Dol-de-Bretagne stands a stone giant, the Menhir of Champ-Dolent. Nearly 10 meters tall, it overlooks the surrounding fields like an unchanging witness of the past. It is actually classified as the second largest in Brittany. But it is not just a simple "long stone" (the meaning of menhir): it is surrounded by a legendary tale.

It is said that the Menhir of Champ-Dolent sinks into the earth each time a serious act of violence occurs in the world. It is said that when the stone has completely disappeared beneath the surface, it will be the sign of the end of times, and thus of humanity.
The village elders claim that the menhir was once much taller, and some even say they have seen with their own eyes the stone slowly sinking imperceptibly over the years...
