1. Why should Amethyst be purified regularly? |
An Amethyst absorbs a lot. To keep all its strength, it needs help to release what it holds. This step is part of the relationship we build with it. In this guide, I explain how I purify Amethyst and restore all its energy.
1. Why should Amethyst be purified regularly?
When an Amethyst stays in a charged space or accompanies intense periods, it keeps a trace of all that. Without purification, it eventually loses its clarity. I have noticed its effects become more blurred, as if it gets tired. Purifying it resets it. It doesn’t take much time, but it changes everything in how it interacts with me afterward.
2. How to purify Amethyst without damaging it?
Amethyst remains a sensitive stone. I never expose it to direct salt or heat. For me, the best method is clear water, preferably spring or filtered. I leave it a few minutes under a light stream, then dry it gently. Sometimes, I place it on a Saint-Jacques shell, or an abalone shell, to gently lighten it. This natural Amethyst stone also reacts well to the smoke of simple incense, like sandalwood or white sage.
3. How to recharge Amethyst after purification?
A purified Amethyst needs a new boost. I avoid exposing it to the sun, as its color can fade. I prefer the soft light of the moon, especially on full moon nights. I place it on a windowsill for a few hours. Sometimes I also put it on a quartz geode or on an Amethyst druse, if I have one nearby. This recharge restores all its vibration without rushing it. The next day, it regains its calming presence.
