IN THE SUMMARY...
1. Why must it be charged? |
Before lighting a dagyde candle, you need to charge it. This is the exact moment when you set your intention, when you establish the link between the wax figure and the person concerned. The dagyde is not magical by nature. It is your gesture, your energy, your focus that give it a clear role. Without this step, it remains an empty form.
1. Why must it be charged?
The dagyde represents a body. But it does not act on its own. You are the one who activates it by placing a specific intention. Charging it prevents any energetic confusion. You define what it represents, to whom it is linked, and why you are preparing it. Without this moment, the dagyde acts in uncertainty, and your work risks being scattered or ineffective.
Charging the dagyde is creating a temporary double. It’s like placing a message, a vibration, a direction inside a neutral envelope.
2. How to concretely charge a dagyde candle?
You start by taking the dagyde in your hands. You can close your eyes, breathe calmly, and connect to the person or the intention. If you are working for yourself, refocus on your own name, your body, your need.
You can then write a first name on the candle with a point (on the back, on the head, on the belly…). You can also place a drop of ritual oil, rub the wax with an herb, or wrap the dagyde with a charged thread or cloth. You can whisper a few words softly, speak to the dagyde as to a witness: “You represent [nom]. I charge you for this work.”
This moment is simple, without theatrics. You act with presence, not with spectacle.
3. Should you say a prayer or call?
You can if it is part of your practice. But it is not mandatory. What matters is that the connection is clear. It is not necessary to recite. You state a clear phrase, a symbolic commitment. It is not a fixed formula. It is a word that marks the link.
You can also place a personal object next to the dagyde, a lock of hair, a paper with a name, a drawing, a symbol. These elements strengthen the link but are not essential.
Charging a dagyde candle is making an intention come alive in the wax. Once this gesture is done, the candle becomes a magical body, ready to receive your work.
