IN THIS SUMMARY...
1. What is its function? |
The mojo bag is a personal pouch, prepared to attract, protect, influence, or strengthen a specific intention. In hoodoo, it is also called hand, toby, or simply mojo. It is not a neutral good luck charm. It is a spirit you carry with you, a small ritual companion charged with its own life, nourished and respected as a living presence.
A mojo bag does not decorate. It works.
1. What is its function?
A mojo can be prepared for love, luck, prosperity, protection, success, dominance, justice, mental clarity, or physical strength. It acts like a field around you, attracting what benefits you or repelling what could harm you. Some mojos are discreet and gentle. Others are sharper, made to reverse a situation or counter an attack.
Each mojo is personalized: it only works for the person who received or made it.
2. What does a mojo contain?
A mojo bag contains a mix of symbolic and magical objects: herbs, roots, small gris-gris, powders, oils, papers, fabric scraps, ritual earths, stones, or sometimes even intimate objects. Nothing is random. Each ingredient responds to a specific intention, and the whole is activated at the moment of closing.
The fabric is often red, but it can also be brown, green, black, depending on the tradition or function. It is always tied with a thread, securely knotted, so the energy remains contained inside.
A mojo is not opened once tied. It is nourished without being revealed.
3. How to use it?
You carry the mojo on you, in your pocket, bra, a bag, or keep it under your pillow or near the altar. It stays close to the body to act continuously. It is not shown. It is not lent. It is part of your personal field.
To activate or nourish it, you can rub it with a conditioned oil, speak to it softly, warm it in your hands. If you neglect it, it tires. If you forget it, it falls asleep. If you treat it like an object, it stops working.
A mojo is living work. And inside this small closed bag, there is a will in motion.
