General Description of Dammar
Dammar is an aromatic resin obtained from several tree species of the Dipterocarpaceae family, notably trees of the Shorea and Hopea genera. These trees are mainly native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Dammar resin appears as translucent to amber-colored pieces, often with a crystalline appearance.
