Lloyd Morgan

Lloyd Morgan is an American tarot author and creator active in the 1970s. He is mainly known for designing the Morgan-Greer Tarot, published in 1979, which remains his most significant work. Passionate about the symbolic heritage of tarot and the works of Arthur Edward Waite and Paul Foster Case, he wanted to offer a modern deck capable of making traditional archetypes accessible through a more direct and evocative visual language.

To realize this project, he collaborated with illustrator Bill Greer, whose colorful and expressive style gave the deck its full artistic identity. The Morgan-Greer Tarot has established itself as a classic of modern tarot, partly thanks to this complementarity between Morgan’s symbolic vision and Greer’s vibrant aesthetic.
