Henri Sérouya

Henri Sérouya was a French author and essayist from the early 20th century, mainly known for his work on esotericism, symbolism, and Western initiatory traditions. Active in the intellectual and spiritualist circles of his time, he was part of a research movement that sought to bring together philosophy, ancient religious traditions, and symbolic sciences, without limiting itself to a strictly confessional approach.

He was particularly interested in Hermetic doctrines, Kabbalah, alchemy, and the major currents of thought from Antiquity and the Middle Ages. His writings aim to make complex knowledge accessible while maintaining historical and conceptual rigor. Unlike some authors of his time, he adopted an analytical and educational tone, seeking more to illuminate thought structures than to produce spectacular esoteric discourse.

Henri Sérouya belongs to the generation of authors for whom the study of ancient traditions was a tool for understanding the world and the human being. His works, now relatively obscure but still sought after, reflect a time when Western esotericism was trying to engage in dialogue with philosophy, the history of religions, and emerging psychology.
