Alexander Dray is a contemporary author specializing in occultism and witchcraft, known for his writings related to the so-called "left-hand path" and unconventional magical practices. Early on, he was drawn to animist religions and shamanic traditions, developing this interest through contact with various cultures encountered during his travels.
After homeschooling followed by boarding school studies, he settled in New York in 1982, where he joined an esoteric group influenced by chaos magic. He then led a small satanic-oriented coven and, in 1996, received initiation into a Petro lineage of Haitian Vodou, which left a lasting mark on his approach blending shamanism and left-hand path methods.
