Pierre Vincenti-Piobb, whose full name is Pierre François Xavier Vincenti, was born on April 12, 1874, in Paris. Coming from a Corsican family of Florentine origin, he adopted the pseudonym "Piobb" in reference to the commune of Piobetta, his father's birthplace.
After studying at Collège Stanislas, he continued his university studies in literature, sciences, and law. As a young journalist, he founded L'Écho de la Corse in Ajaccio in 1893, then collaborated with various Parisian newspapers.
Passionate about occultism, he translated works by Robert Fludd and wrote the Formulaire de Haute Magie in 1907. He created the "Société des sciences anciennes," recognized as a public utility, where he organized lectures and courses until 1914.
During World War I, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then became head of the press office of the French resident general in Morocco. He strongly opposed Italian claims on Corsica.
Pierre Vincenti-Piobb died on May 12, 1942, in Paris and was buried in Père-Lachaise Cemetery.
