This candle is specially linked to the Lughnasadh sabbat, also called Lammas. A pagan festival honoring the god Lugh, it celebrates the union of the sun and the moon, as well as the harvest of the seeds that were sown during Ostara and Beltane. Celebrated between July 31 and August 1, Lammas is also known as the bread festival, where it is customary to prepare all kinds of bread using freshly harvested flour and distribute them to those in need.

Yellow in color, tinted in bulk to represent warmth and generosity, it is adorned with symbols related to this sabbat (wheat, flowers, etc.).

The Lughnasadh sabbat candle will decorate your altar as is, or can be anointed on top (avoiding the wick) with a magical or planetary oil (Sun), or even with a corresponding essential oil (sage or cedar, for example).

This candle is prepared for the Lughnasadh sabbat, also known as Lammas. This pagan festival celebrates the Celtic god Lugh, a deity associated with light, art, and harvests. Lughnasadh marks a crucial period in the agricultural cycle: it is the time of the first harvest, when the seeds that sprouted in spring during the Ostara and Beltane festivities are gathered. Traditionally celebrated between July 31 and August 1, Lammas is also called the bread festival, a time when it is customary to knead and bake bread using freshly milled flour from the new harvests.

The Lughnasadh candle is dyed a vibrant yellow, a color chosen to evoke the warmth of the summer sun and the generosity of the earth that nourishes its inhabitants. It is decorated with symbols that resonate with this sabbat, such as wheat ears and wildflowers, thus evoking golden fields and the floral splendor of summer.

Placed on your altar, this Lughnasadh candle can be used as is to anchor the energies of the celebration and serve as a focal point during your rituals. To increase its magical effectiveness, it can be anointed with magical or planetary oils corresponding to the themes of the festival. Sun oil, for example, is perfectly suited for Lughnasadh, amplifying the sun’s attributes such as vitality, abundance, and prosperity. Additionally, essential oils like sage, for wisdom and protection, or cedar, for purification and stabilization, can be applied to the top of the candle. When anointing the candle, be careful to avoid the wick to maintain a clean and safe burn.

Using this candle during Lughnasadh celebrations not only enriches your ritual practices but also creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, fostering a deeper connection with the harvest season and the spiritual traditions that celebrate abundance and gratitude.
