Chango, or Shango, is an orisha deity worshiped mainly in the Yoruba traditions of West Africa and among their descendants in the Caribbean and South America. He is the god of thunder, fire, dance, virility, and war. Chango is also associated with justice and protection, offering support to followers and punishing those who act immorally or unjustly. He is often called upon to arbitrate disputes and to strengthen courage and leadership among his devotees.
