Aztec Pantheon

Within the Aztec pantheon, several deities stand out, each representing different aspects of life and nature. Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, was worshiped as the god of wisdom, knowledge, and wind, while Huitzilopochtli, the god of the sun and war, was considered the divine protector of Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital. Tlaloc, the god of rain, was invoked to ensure abundant harvests, while Coatlicue, the mother of all gods, was depicted as a goddess of fertility and creation. The Aztecs practiced complex rituals and human sacrifices to appease these deities and ensure the prosperity of their empire.
