Today, we are faced with all kinds of energies, more or less intense, which can affect our mood and/or physical state. This is where Orgonite comes in: this small energetic object is used to transform negative energies into positive ones by relying on a specific blend of resin, metals, and crystals. Now a small aesthetic artifact, it helps improve well-being, especially against electromagnetic waves (computer, wifi, TV, etc.). But what exactly is Orgonite? And what is its history? Explanations.

1. The Origins of Orgonite

1.1. The Work of Wilhelm Reich on Orgone Energy

Wilhelm Reich, an Austrian doctor and psychoanalyst, introduced the concept of orgone in the 1930s, a vital energy present everywhere that he considered fundamental for physical and mental health. Inspired by Sigmund Freud’s libido theories (energy linked to sexual instinct but not only), Reich expanded this notion by proposing that orgone was a universal force comparable to prana in Hinduism or chi in traditional Chinese medicine.

To study and harness this energy, Reich developed devices called orgone accumulators, made of alternating layers of organic and metallic materials. These accumulators were supposed to concentrate orgone energy, allowing treatment of various ailments, including cancer and mental disorders. However, his methods and theories sparked controversy, and in 1954, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ordered the destruction of his devices and publications, considering his work unscientific.

1.2. Evolution to Modern Orgonite with Karl Welz and the Crofts

In the 1980s, Austrian engineer Karl Hans Welz continued research on orgone energy and "officially" invented orgonite, a composite material combining resin, metals, and quartz crystals. According to Welz, this combination allowed generating and transforming orgone energy, providing protection against negative energies and electromagnetic pollution.

In the early 2000s, Don and Carol Croft popularized the use of orgonite by making modifications, notably adding specific crystals to amplify its effects. They also developed devices such as the chembuster, designed to neutralize the effects of chemtrails (energy traces) and purify the atmosphere.

2. How Does Orgonite Work?

2.1. The Basic Materials

Orgonite is a composite combining three main elements:

  • Resin: acting as the organic component, resin attracts surrounding energy. The most commonly used resins are polyester resin, epoxy resin, and urethane resin.

  • Metals: metal particles, such as copper, aluminum, brass, or iron shavings, are incorporated to reflect and disperse energy. These metals play a crucial role in orgonite’s ability to harmonize energies.

  • Crystals: clear quartz is frequently used to amplify and stabilize energy. Other crystals, like amethyst, turquoise, tiger’s eye, or hematite, can be added for their specific properties.

The optimal mix is generally 50% resin and 50% metals, with crystals added to enhance energetic effects.

2.2. Mechanism of Transforming Negative Energies into Positive Ones

Orgonite is designed to function as an energy filter, capturing and transmuting negative or unbalanced energies into positive and harmonious energies. This process is continuous, allowing orgonite to work permanently without needing maintenance or recharging.

Crystalline materials, like quartz, absorb negative vibrations which are then transmuted into more positive energy by the metal surrounding the crystal.

3. The Shapes and Varieties of Orgonites

Orgonites come in many shapes, mainly pyramids, spheres, and domes.

Pyramids concentrate and amplify energy. This particular geometry makes them an ideal choice for harmonizing the energy of a space or serving as a support during meditation. Orgonites shaped like spheres diffuse energy evenly in all directions. Placed in an environment, they help balance ambient energies while often serving as decorative objects.

Beyond shape, you will notice there are many different orgonite compositions. So, it’s up to you to choose the one that will be most useful to you.

4. What Are the Effects of Orgonite?

Although there are no scientific studies, the benefits of Orgonite are attributed on several levels.

On the physical level, orgonite is used to improve sleep quality and reduce stress. Placed in a bedroom, it is said to create a calming environment by harmonizing surrounding energies. Some people also report a reduction in physical tension, which they attribute to orgonite’s stabilizing effect on the body’s energy fields.

On the mental and emotional level, orgonite contributes to inner balance and better emotional management. By neutralizing negative energies, it can help regain a sense of serenity in the face of daily challenges. It is also used as a support tool during meditation, promoting increased concentration and better spiritual connection. Meditation practitioners claim it helps calm the mind and strengthen their energetic alignment.

In the environment, orgonite is placed in living spaces or workplaces to neutralize stagnant or unbalanced energies. Additionally, orgonite is seen as an effective means of protection against electromagnetic waves emitted by electronic devices. Placing it near emission sources, such as computers or smartphones, reduces the negative impacts of these waves on well-being.

5. How to Use and Care for Orgonite?

As we saw earlier, using Orgonite is very simple: just place it wherever you choose!

Although it is designed to work autonomously, it is recommended to purify it regularly, especially if exposed to intense or negative energies. For this, a little smoke from purifying incense like sage or palo santo will do the trick. It does not need to be recharged.

6. How to Recognize a Genuine Orgonite?

With the growing popularity of orgonites, the market has seen many imitations or poorly made products that do not respect the fundamental manufacturing principles (notably on large Chinese sites selling products for a few cents). Knowing how to identify a real orgonite is essential to ensure its energetic properties and effectiveness.

A genuine orgonite is based on a balanced composition and conforms to basic principles. It must contain three essential elements: resin, metals, and at least one crystal (at least clear quartz). These materials must be visible inside the object, as their interaction is necessary to capture and transform energies. An orgonite lacking metals or containing only crystals, for example, cannot function properly.

The balance of proportions is another important criterion. A real orgonite is made of about 50% resin and 50% metals, with crystals integrated optimally. A piece containing too much resin and little metal will have reduced effectiveness, as the necessary interaction to harmonize energies will be insufficient. Likewise, an orgonite overloaded with crystals or poorly arranged might not produce the expected effects.

The quality of materials used is also a key indicator. Metals must be clean and in sufficient quantity, while crystals must be authentic and not synthetic. Natural crystals are essential to amplify and stabilize energies. If the materials seem low quality or fake, it is likely the object is not a genuine orgonite.

The Orgonites offered in our online esoteric shop meet these standards because we verify them before offering them to you. Our goal is not to offer you the most Orgonites possible, but only genuine quality Orgonites.
