As you may know, behind Aeternum is a small company based in Brittany (in the south of Finistère to be precise). And it is well known that this territory lives to the rhythm of legends, myths, and more or less known magical practices (Brocéliande, Merlin, the Fairy Viviane, the Alignments, and many others). Thus, to highlight our beautiful region, we will regularly publish little-known legends from Breton history.
This week, heading north of Finistère, to one of the most beautiful coasts of Brittany, towards Kerlouan, on the Neïz Vran point, which houses the legend of the knight Bran...

It is in this place that an ancient legend tells the story of an epic battle led by Even the Great in the 10th century against invaders from the North.
Even, the illustrious Breton leader, managed to repel the attackers, forcing them into a hasty retreat. However, in their flight, the invaders captured several prisoners, among whom was the beloved grandson of Count Even, a young man known as Bran, meaning "the crow." Bran, the divine bird of the Celts, would never see the shores of his homeland, Brittany, again.
Years and centuries have passed, but the memory of this battle remains engraved in the landscape of Neïz Vran. A great oak, majestic and imposing, dominates the shore, symbolizing the resilience and memory of those ancient times.
Every year, in November, when the moon shines high in the sky, seabirds gather on the branches of this oak. These birds, with black and white plumage, bear a strange bloodstain on their forehead. In the heart of the night, a tired young crow then appears, perching at the very top of the oak. With a voice filled with nostalgia and sadness, he whispers:
"Sing, sing for me, little birds of my land, you who did not die far from Brittany."

At this call, the birds begin an enchanting song, of such deep beauty that even the sea freezes, the waves stand still, and the wind stops blowing, creating a sacred silence to listen to this melody.
If you pass through this area, enjoy the silence as a moment of listening and be attentive to the crows around.
