1. Why use powders? |
In hoodoo, powders are among the most direct tools to act on a situation, a person, a place, or a specific energy. They are dry mixtures, made of plants ground into powder, minerals, ritual earths, sometimes talc, clay, or flour, prepared with a very clear intention. Each powder is charged with a purpose: to attract, protect, repel, block, soften, reveal, strengthen.
They are not incense. They are visible and active traces.
1. Why use powders?
Powders are used to mark a place, leave an energetic imprint, or influence without direct contact. They can be discreetly placed on the ground, blown towards a person, rubbed on an object, slipped into a bag, or used in written rituals. They do not burn. They remain in the space, like a magical signature.
Each powder has its name, its use, its vibration. And each use requires precision, calm, and intention.
2. How to use them?
You can sprinkle a powder on a threshold, a door handle, a sidewalk, or draw a line on the ground to block a passage. You can rub a candle with an oil, then roll it in the powder before lighting it. You can also apply it on hands, shoes, or petition papers.
Some blow the powder in a direction while whispering a request. Others step on the powder to charge it, or scatter it where the targeted person will pass.
The gesture is always firm, precise, silent. Powder is never poured randomly. It traces a will.
3. Some common powders in hoodoo
There are powders to attract (like magnetism powder, attraction powder, silver powder), others to cut or defend (war powder, separation powder, hot foot powder), and others to soften or stabilize (peace powder, love powder, justice powder).
Some are very well known: hot foot powder is used to make someone leave, peace powder to calm an atmosphere, Come To Me powder to attract someone in a love working.
You can prepare them yourself or buy them ready-made, but each powder must be consecrated with your own energy.
A hoodoo powder does not conceal. It directs. And in every trace left on the ground, there is a message that the invisible understands.
