Bruges, nicknamed the "Venice of the North," has a past steeped in mystery and esotericism. Its Gothic architecture and misty canals have inspired many legends blending witchcraft, astrology, and hermeticism.

Bruges was an influential intellectual center where Hermetic thinkers and alchemists developed their research.
