Intentions: Wisdom Creativity

Lapis Lazuli is a stone associated with royalty since ancient times. Its name, meaning "blue stone," refers to its intense and recognizable color. Used by many civilizations, it held a central place in Egyptian traditions, where it adorned the jewelry and funerary masks of pharaohs. Its brilliance and rarity made it a precious stone, seen as a symbol of protection and a connection to the divine. Its deep blue, streaked with golden Pyrite inclusions, gave it a luxurious appearance and enhanced its prestige.

Representing wisdom and truth, Lapis Lazuli promotes clear and structured thinking, facilitating thoughtful decisions and nurturing inspiration. It develops intuition and improves self-awareness and perception of the environment. Closely linked to the third eye chakra, it opens the mind to broader understanding and sharpens the perception of subtle realities.

This polished block of Lapis Lazuli is of Excelsus (AAA) quality, mined at high altitude in the Gilgit-Baltistan province of Pakistan.

⸺ Please note, however, that appearance does not make a stone more or less powerful. It is the result of a natural process followed by a finish that is purely visual.

Buy this Lapis Lazuli block from our esoteric shop

Lapis Lazuli has been associated with power and royalty since antiquity. Its name literally means “blue stone,” referring to the deep color that defines it. Particularly sought after in ancient Egypt, it adorned jewelry, amulets, and funerary objects intended for the elite. It can notably be seen on the famous mask of Tutankhamun. Its rarity, intense blue color, and golden pyrite inclusions gave it a prestigious character, while its use in religious and funerary objects brought it closer to the divine realm and protection.

A stone of wisdom, truth, and discernment

Lapis Lazuli has an ancient symbolic dimension associated with wisdom, truth, and knowledge. In lithotherapy, it accompanies periods of reflection and situations requiring discernment and clarity. It is therefore used to encourage clear and structured thinking, facilitate thoughtful decisions, and support inspiration. Its royal heritage also makes it an interesting stone for work related to authority, dignity, and the expression of truthful speech.

A stone associated with perception and intuition

In modern esoteric correspondences, Lapis Lazuli is closely linked to the third-eye chakra. It is used to support intuition, self-knowledge, and practices requiring a more refined perception of situations. It can therefore be used during meditation, divination practices, or work devoted to wisdom and the search for truth. Lapis Lazuli is thus a stone of choice for work involving discernment, knowledge, intuition, inspiration, and authority.

A question about this product?

We have the answers.

How do I cleanse Lapis Lazuli?

For ritual purification, choose gentle fumigation with Frankincense, Benzoin, or another suitable fumigation method . Simply pass the stone through the smoke for a few moments. This method avoids unnecessarily exposing Lapis Lazuli to moisture or products that could damage its surface.. Passez simplement la pierre quelques instants dans la fumée. Cette méthode évite d’exposer inutilement le Lapis Lazuli à l’humidité ou aux produits susceptibles d’altérer sa surface.

How to recharge Lapis Lazuli?

You can place it in the moonlight overnight, on an altar, or near a clear quartz crystal. In magical practice, you can also cleanse it and then reaffirm the intention to which you wish to dedicate it.

Where to place a Lapis Lazuli?

Lapis Lazuli is particularly well suited to an altar, desk, study, meditation, or divination space. It can also be placed near books, divination tools, or an area dedicated to reflection and spiritual work.

Can Lapis Lazuli be exposed to sunlight?

Occasional exposure to natural light generally does not cause any problems, but it is preferable to avoid leaving the stone in direct sunlight for extended periods or near a strong heat source. Some Lapis Lazuli stones are also treated with wax, oil, or dyes, whose stability may be reduced by heat.

Can lapis lazuli be placed in water?

Lapis lazuli can be briefly cleaned with slightly soapy lukewarm water, but prolonged immersion is best avoided. It is a rock composed primarily of lazurite, calcite, and pyrite, with a hardness of between 5 and 6 on the Mohs scale. Some specimens may also have received a surface treatment.

Can Lapis Lazuli be cleansed with salt?

It is best to avoid direct contact with salt , particularly when wet. Lapis lazuli is softer than quartz and may contain calcite as well as surface treatments. Smudging is a gentler and more suitable method., particulièrement sous forme humide. Le Lapis Lazuli est moins dur que le quartz et peut contenir de la calcite ainsi que des traitements de surface. La fumigation constitue une méthode plus douce et mieux adaptée.

How to care for Lapis Lazuli?

For cleaning the item, use lukewarm, slightly soapy water and a very soft cloth, then dry the stone immediately. Avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaners, solvents, harsh chemicals, and high heat. Some Lapis Lazuli stones are dyed, waxed, or oiled to enhance their color and luster.
