The Angel of Prayer accompanies a request for help amid tribulations. For Julio, it supports the soul facing pain and reversals.

Read the symbolism

The angel figure is surrounded by an invocation drawn from the Psalms, asking for help in times of trial. Julio emphasizes the movement of the prayer: the soul is invited to rise again rather than remain weighed down by pain.

The effects attributed

The notice attributes to the sign support in times of sorrow and reversals of fortune. Julio includes difficulties caused by others as well as those resulting from one’s own imprudence. The request therefore concerns the ordeal and the ability to get through it.

Usage according to Julio

The author invites readers to invoke the angel in times of pain. Its use is understood alongside his prayer practices and religious preparation of supports. In another notice, he specifies that the intention may direct certain figures toward the intercession of a saint.

A personal reading

For a personal reading, first express your distress in simple words. Then look at the figure as a reminder of the prayer’s momentum and choose a small, concrete action that helps you regain your footing.

The source and variants

The engraving is mentioned in Liturgical Prayers, p. 463. It has a separate notice from that of the Guardian Angel, more closely related to sleep and nighttime worries.

Abbé Julio, The Secret Book of Great Exorcisms and Blessings, Vincennes, published by the author, 1908. Explanation and application no. 37, pp. 433–434. Practical advice on blessed and consecrated supports: pp. 462–463.

Classical directory numbering: 10 of 44. This numbering differs from the inventory of engravings in the old volumes.
