A lamb stands in a meadow at the foot of a hill. Julio surrounds this scene with an invocation that brings humans and animals together in the same plea for help.
Read the symbolism
The note describes the lamb in the meadow and explains the exergue through a prayer addressed to the Lord as the source of healing for people and animals. The image places the animal’s gentleness at the center of this theme.
The effects attributed
Julio attributes to the pentacle an application in the illnesses of people and animals, notably citing domestic animals and those associated with rural work. The scope he gives it is that of his spiritual healing practice.
Usage by Julio
The sign is understood together with the blessing, consecration, and prayer described in the work. The note does not establish a different rite for each of the species it lists.
A personal reading
A personal reading may turn toward the vulnerability of a living being. Look at the lamb in its environment and formulate a prayer for gentleness, accompanied by concrete care for the person or animal.
The source and variants
The reproduction is plate no. 15 of the third volume. The Lamb is distinguished from the Holy Face, whose note also associates the sign with humans and animals.
