What is palo santo and where does it come from?

palo santo is a sacred wood that has been used for centuries in rituals of purification, grounding, and spiritual connection. Its name means “holy wood” in Spanish. It is not simply an air freshener: it is a wood steeped in history, culture, and living practices. It is harvested mainly in South America, particularly in Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia, where it grows naturally in tropical dry forests.
