1. Why not use it for a new working? |
A dagyde candle represents an energetic body. It is linked to a specific intention from the moment you charge it. Even if it has not burned completely, it has already been marked. The question of reuse often arises: what should you do if the dagyde has not been completely consumed? Can you keep it for another working? The answer is clear: no, a partially used dagyde must not be reused in another ritual. It remains connected to its first intention.
1. Why not use it for a new working?
As soon as a dagyde is charged, it becomes a unique tool. You have placed a name, a thought, a wish, and a vibration in it. Even if it has only burned halfway, the wax still carries this memory. Reusing it blurs the energies, mixes the intentions, and can make the ritual ineffective or even unstable.
It is like trying to rewrite a letter that has already been sent. The message has gone out. The tool has served its purpose. It is no longer neutral.
2. What should you do if the dagyde goes out before the end?
If the flame goes out on its own, do not relight it immediately. Observe. Perhaps the working was sufficient. Perhaps there was resistance or a blockage in the intention that was set. You can take some time to sense what this means.
If you choose to resume the working, do not relight the old dagyde. Prepare a new candle, with the same intention or with a clarified intention. The previous one, even if only partially burned, should be treated as a ritual remnant.
3. Can you keep it for yourself?
No, not if it has been charged. Even if it has not been consumed, it remains an active object. Do not place it on a shelf as a decoration. Do not mix it with other objects. Treat it as a living energetic tool, with the same care as a fully burned dagyde.
You can throw it away, bury it, or melt it separately to bring its cycle to a close.
4. Are there any exceptions?
Only uncharged dagydes that have remained neutral can be used later. If you simply took it out of its packaging without touching it with an intention, it remains available. But as soon as a word, an oil, or a thought has been placed on it, it becomes unique.
Never reuse a partially used dagyde for another purpose. Even for the same theme, the energy would be confused. A clear intention deserves a clear tool.
Respecting the unique life of a dagyde means respecting your own ritual act. And through this respect, the magic retains its power.
