Money is connected to the concrete, but also to self-esteem, fear of scarcity, and inner security. Reading tarot on this subject does not mean asking whether one will “become rich,” but rather shedding light on one’s relationship with the flow, merit, and circulation. In tarot, money does not fall from the sky. It reflects an attitude, an imbalance, and work to be done. A reading makes it possible to understand this dynamic, not to invent promises.

1. What can a reading reveal about money?

It can reveal an inner blockage: fear of receiving, tension related to debt, or difficulty asserting one’s value. It can also show a possible opening, a change in attitude, or an opportunity to seize. Tarot does not make coins appear in your pocket. It shows why they are not circulating, or why you do not dare to keep them.

A reading can also indicate a time to wait, a genuine opportunity, or support around you. It helps you understand how you position yourself in the material world.

2. What questions should you ask?

You can ask about a specific project: “What does this new job reveal about my ability to grow?”, “What is the dynamic surrounding this loan request?”, “How can I improve my current situation?”

You can also ask broader questions: “What is my relationship with money right now?”, “What is holding back my abundance?”, “What do I need to see in order to welcome a balanced inflow of money?”

Tarot speaks the truth. It does not disguise an empty bank account. It shows a path for money to take its place again, without shame or fantasy.

3. Which cards can speak about money?

You may encounter very concrete cards: The World, The Sun, The Wheel of Fortune, and The Star, which indicate circulation, support, and successful transitions. But you may also see The Hermit, The Hanged Man, or The Moon, which speak of waiting, slowing down, or confusion surrounding priorities.

The Pentacles, in the minor arcana, often speak of finances, but interpreting them requires context. The 5 of Pentacles can signal a loss or a feeling of exclusion. A King of Pentacles can indicate stability or power to reclaim.

Each card invites you to see how you position yourself: active, passive, wary, or open.

4. Can tarot be used as a financial decision-making tool?

Yes, as long as you do not ask for a magical green light. Tarot helps you see clearly, not calculate an interest rate. It can indicate whether the energy surrounding a purchase is stable, whether an expense is justified, or whether a signature carries tension.

But you remain the sole master of your decision. Tarot shows you what you do not see. It does not decide in your place.

Reading tarot for a money question means understanding your place in the flow. And in this rediscovered position, you can put money back in its proper place: neither enemy nor obsession. Simply one tool among others.
