Before you begin

Your chart answers three simple questions

Every piece of information shown next has a precise role. This is the simplest order in which to read the wheel without getting lost.

  1. Who is acting?

Planets represent functions: the Sun concerns identity, the Moon needs, and Mercury thought.

  2. How is it expressed?

The sign gives each function a style: more direct, stable, sensitive, analytical or expansive.

  3. Where and with what?

Houses locate the area of life; aspects show how two functions cooperate or challenge one another.

A four-layer reading

How to read your chart without getting lost

A birth chart is more than one sign. It combines functions, ways of expressing them, areas of life and relationships between planets. Following this order turns a symbol-filled wheel into a sequence of simple questions you can connect.

  1. 01

    Start with the planets

They answer “what?”: identity for the Sun, needs for the Moon, thought for Mercury, relating for Venus and action for Mars. Identify the function first without trying to interpret everything at once.

  2. 02

    Add the sign’s colour

The sign answers “how?”. It shades the pace and expression of the planet without replacing its function. Mercury still concerns thought, for example, but it does not communicate in the same way in every sign.

  3. 03

    Locate the house

The house answers “where?”. It indicates the area of experience where the combination is traditionally interpreted, such as relationships, daily work, home or vocation. It requires a precise birth time.

  4. 04

    Connect with aspects

Aspects show the angles between planets. They suggest functions that cooperate, reinforce each other or need more adjustment. The orb helps you prioritise: the smaller it is, the closer the angle is to its exact form.

Use the generator well

Why is birth time important?

Time determines the local rotation of the chart. A few minutes can move house cusps and, near a sign change, alter the Ascendant. Without a reliable time, the generator shows planets but intentionally hides those two layers.

Which astrological system does the generator use?

The chart uses the tropical zodiac and, when time is known, equal houses: the Ascendant opens house I and each house covers exactly thirty degrees. This simple choice is stated below the wheel.

How should degrees and aspects be understood?

The degree gives a body’s position within a sign. An aspect is a notable angle between two bodies. The displayed orb measures the gap from the exact angle: the smaller it is, the more precise the aspect.

Can I generate a chart without knowing my birth time?

Yes. The generator then uses a conventional noon time to position the planets. It hides the Ascendant and houses because they depend on the time. The Moon can also change signs during a day, so a result near a transition should be read with care.

Why should I check the UTC offset?

The calculation converts local civil time into universal time. Seasonal clock changes and historical rules can alter that offset. A one-hour difference mainly affects the Ascendant and houses, so the automatic estimate remains editable.

Does the general summary describe my whole personality?

No. It only connects the Sun, Moon and Ascendant to provide a first reading thread. The other planets, their houses and aspects add important nuances and can balance or complicate this trio.

The date positions the planets in the zodiac. Local time and place orient the wheel and make it possible to calculate the Ascendant and houses, so check the suggested UTC offset, especially for an older birth or one close to a daylight-saving change. A few minutes can move house cusps and, near a boundary, change the rising sign.

Sun sign, Moon sign, Ascendant, houses and aspects

The result shows the Sun sign, Moon sign, Ascendant when the time is known, ten celestial points, houses and major aspects. The calculation uses the tropical zodiac and equal houses; positions are rounded and designed for an introduction, not as a substitute for professional ephemeris software.

Read the chart in layers. A planet names the function being observed; its sign traditionally describes how it is expressed; the house indicates the area of experience; an aspect links two functions through an angle. The pages on zodiac signs and astrological houses help you explore each result further.

Create a natal chart without knowing the birth time

You can use the tool without an exact time. It then uses noon as a conventional time to calculate planetary positions, but deliberately hides the Ascendant and houses because they depend strongly on time. The Moon can also change signs during a day, so its placement requires caution near a transition.

This generator offers a symbolic learning framework. It does not demonstrate a physical influence of celestial bodies, describe an entire personality or predict the future with certainty. Treat the summary as a prompt for reflection, then compare it with the whole chart and the complete astrology guide. Important decisions should remain grounded in verifiable information and qualified advice.
