1. When should you invoke him? |
Saint Expeditus is one of the saints most frequently invoked in novenas for urgent requests. He is not a gentle or contemplative figure: he takes action. He gets straight to the point. He helps when you need a quick answer, immediate clarity, or the strength to make a decision. His image appeals to those who feel blocked, stuck waiting, lost in uncertainty, or faced with a difficult choice.
Lighting a novena candle to Saint Expeditus means asking for clear support, a quick helping hand, and a way forward to open. He does not expect long prayers or complicated promises. He asks for sincerity, a clear wish, and a commitment from the heart.
1. When should you invoke him?
You can perform a novena to Saint Expeditus when you are faced with a pressing choice, a decision to make, an administrative emergency, a blockage involving paperwork, procedures, communication, or a conflict that has reached an impasse.
He is also invoked when your mind keeps going around in circles, when you feel caught in indecision or afraid to act. He helps you regain clarity and momentum.
He is direct, but not brutal. He acts quickly, but not in your place. He gives you the momentum you can no longer find on your own.
2. How do you light a novena candle for him?
Choose a red or white candle, with his image if possible. You can place a small note beside it with your request written clearly, a coin, or an object connected to what you want to unblock (key, document, photo, name).
Light it while silently saying a simple phrase: “Saint Expeditus, help me move forward, make a decision, and resolve this.” You do not need a speech. Remain clear, steadfast, and wholehearted.
You can return each day, speak to him again, and share the progress of your situation with him. He responds to commitment, not repetition.
3. What comes after the novena?
If your request is granted, even partially, you can thank him with a concrete gesture: donate to an organization, help someone, offer a candle, or leave a coin in a sacred place. He appreciates gestures that keep the energy received flowing.
Praying to Saint Expeditus with a novena means knocking on a door with respect, but also firmness. And when it opens, you no longer wait: you move forward.
