Ruby

Ancient inventories must nevertheless be read with caution: several famous “Rubies” were red Spinels, impossible to distinguish without modern methods. This gemological correction does not erase their talismanic history; it reminds us that color long preceded mineral species.

Scott Cunningham attributed Mars and Fire to it in 1988, along with wealth, power, joy, and defense. Tuesday favors action and courage; Sunday, associated with the Sun and Leo, suits radiance, authority, and visible success.

Courage, desire, power, and wealth

For courage, wear the Ruby when undertaking an action you have already decided on. Name the actual risk, the means of reducing it, and the reason to move forward. The talisman supports the prepared act, not recklessness.

For love, write what you are willing to give and what you refuse to sacrifice. Place the stone between the two sentences. Desire thus remains ardent without becoming possessive.

For wealth or authority, place the Ruby on a contract, project, or quantified objective. Ask for the strength to keep your word and use the result with dignity. Magical power begins here with responsibility.

The Red Flame Oath

On a Tuesday, light a red candle and place the Ruby in front of it, away from the heat. Write down an action you have been putting off, then the rule that should govern it. Read both sentences while standing.

Say: “I kindle what I can guide. My strength serves my oath.” Pass the stone over the paper without touching the flame, then keep it with you until the action is completed. Extinguish the candle without abandoning the commitment.
